You do everything "right." You put the phone down, mostly. You skip the late coffee. And still, by bedtime, your room feels more like a waiting room than a place to rest.

Often the problem isn't you. It's the room. Light that never fully goes away, a room that holds onto the heat of the day, and a nightstand that doubles as a charging station can all keep your body on alert when it's trying to wind down. Your body already knows how to rest. Sometimes it just needs us to stop working against it.

That's what this workshop is about.

What we'll cover

Too hot. Why so many of us sleep in rooms that are warmer than our bodies want, and simple ways to cool things down that don't involve a new thermostat or a fight over the covers.

Too bright. The sneaky light sources most of us never notice, from hallway glow to tiny standby lights, and how to make your room truly dark without blackout-everything.

Too wired. How the "stuff" in a bedroom, from screens to clutter to the laundry pile, keeps your mind switched on, and what to move out first.

You'll leave with a short, realistic checklist you can start that same night. Nothing to buy, no overhaul required.

Who this is for

This workshop is designed for adults 45 and up, who want their evenings to feel calmer and their bedroom to feel like a place they actually want to be. It's educational and practical. We won't be diagnosing anything or talking about medications, just the environment you come home to every night.

Save your seat

Pick the session that works best for you. Both cover the same material. Space in the library meeting room is limited, so please register so we know how many to plan for. You'll get a confirmation email right away and a reminder before the workshop.
